UHF Partial Discharge Measurements

For over 5 years LDIC offers highly-sophisticated measurement equipment and services in the field of UHF partial discharge measurements.

By using special designed sensors, partial discharges can be decoupled in the UHF frequency range and measured with suitable measurement and diagnosis systems (e.g. periodically with LDS-6/UHF as well as PD SMART or permanent with PD GUARD/UHF).

Especially on transformers the UHF technique offers new possibilities for decoupling partial discharges.

LDIC provides in this case two types of UHF PD sensors:

  1. UHF-Drainvalve-Sensors, to be used at the drainvalve (DN50 or DN80) of the transformer
  2. UHF-Plate-Sensors, to be installed at the hatch of the transformer
