DISSIPATION & POWER FACTOR
What is the Dissipation Factor / Loss Factor?
The dissipation factor Tan Delta ist the ratio between the resistive power loss and the the reactive power loss of the insulation material.
Hence, the dissipation factor Tan Delta plays a major role as measuring parameter for the integral condition assessment of HV insulations. Both age-related disorders as well as manufacturing and assembly flaws can be diagnosed.
Together with partial discharge measurements, a comprehensive dielectrical diagnosis of the HV insulation can be achieved.
Our Measuring Devices - Our Solution - Your Benefit
Compared to the classic Schering Bridge method, our measuring instruments feature a simple and fully automatic dissipation factor balancing. The use of optical separation allows the safe HV testing of grounded test objects and greatly reduces the influence of electro-magnetic interferences. Capacitance and other relevant parameters can be displayed directly.
TD-SMART
The digital dissipation and capacitance measuring system TD-SMART is a high-precise, modular acqusition and analysis system for measruing the current and other key characteristics of electrical equipment, including dissipation & power factor as well as capacitance.
